Guitarist David Tonkin has been performing, writing and teaching music for 45 years. He has played with Tiger Okoshi and Delfeayo Marselis, developed school and community improvisation residencies, and played venues from the Blue Note in NYC to The White Mountain Jazz and Blues Festival. A founding faculty member at the Music School who served for 35 years as its Jazz Department Chair, David built a first-class jazz faculty and influenced hundreds of students, many of whom are recognized musicians and educators around the country.
Rounding out the group are Music School faculty member Tim Gilmore on drums and Brendan Dowd on bass. Heavily influenced by guitarists Wes Montgomery and John Scofield, the trio puts their own stamp on jazz standards, Latin songs and pop and rock tunes.
